2.Textbook p. 131 supplementary practice. Write down all the answers for the exercise and Try it! in this lesson. Due next class.
3. Grammar quiz next class on A不/没A pattern and tag questions. You need to memorize the vocabulary in this lesson for this quiz. Study textbook p. 134 and 135. As long as you know the meaning and answer for the two exercises, you will be fine.
4. Speaking assessment next class with the teacher. You may refer to the conservation on textbook p. 27. The situation is: You run into your friend Nina (played by Xu laoshi). She will have a meal with your classmate XXX in a restaurant and wants to invite you to the restaurant together. You know the classmate because you take Chinese classes together. She wants to eat Chinese food but you want to eat something else (depending on your choice). Then You agree to eat Chinese food this time and something else next time and meet after class.

08/28 B day Chinese II Assignments

1.Textbook p. 133 8-7 pick two answers from each table and translate all the sentences aside.
2. Try it! exercise in this lesson from textbook p. 128-131. If you have written down the answers, you don't need to do them again. If not, please write down all the answers.
3. Read textbook p. 125-126 dialogues at least twice and figure out the meaning for every word. Circle the words of which you can't figure the meaning out.

08/28 B day Chinese I Assignments

1.Complete worksheet 3 (two sides) distributed last week.
2. Textbook p.1-6, 1-7, 1-9. For 1-7, you need to write down the final sentences in characters. Previous sentences can be written in pinyin.
Don't worry if you had difficulty in today's class, which was normal. It is your first time that you have got so much input totally in Chinese. When your brain is used to the input, you will feel better. I will review the grammar again and again so you will have plenty of chances for practice.

Assignment notice

You must finish the assignments in time now. I will apply the late penalty strictly next week. It is your responsibility to check my blog every day and submit the required assignments to me before/on due dates through feasible ways, email, DVD, removable disk, etc. If you don't do it, you will definitely fail this class. Some of you have lost points already. If you have any questions regarding the assignments, you can always email me and I will reply once I see it.

08/23 08/24 A/B Days Chinese II Assignments

1. Complete all the previous assignments. The late penalty has been applied already.

2. Textbook p. 133 8-6, write down your sentences on the same page and translate them (complete the remaining characters). Due next class.

3. Review the grammar. A 不(not) A pattern question, confirming and suggestive tag questions. Write down a sentence for each type of questions with the verb in this lesson and translate it. Due next class.

4. Lesson 8 worksheet first section "questions".

5. Complete the character practice on the sheets (Simplified version). Due next class.

1.Review the vocabulary and circle the radicals on the character sheet. Then write down the meaning of the radicals.

2.Practice the characters on the character sheet. Try to recognize them.

3. Do lesson 8 section 2 only.

08/22 B day Chinese II Assignments

3. Review the grammar in the textbook.
4. Textbook P. 134, 8-7, Fill in the blank due on 08/23 (choose two different answers from each table and write down the translation of the sentences next to them. For the second question and answer, after you fill in the blank, please change the yes-no question to tag question while keeping the original meaning. )
5. Photo story final version due on 08/25. Please upload it on Youtube or something and email me the link, or just email me the whole file). If you don't correct it, I will not assign the grade.

1. Review Pinyin on the Panda and squirrel website.  Review special Pinyin rules on P. F-9.

Try to figure out the orders for the following two characters:due next class。Think about the reasons for applying orders in writing characters.

08/21 Class A Chinese II Assignment

1. Role play video due on 08/22 (you need to do it with your partner without looking at the prepared scripts. Otherwise you will fail this task. I can tell if you just read the prepared scripts. If I have doubt about your performance, I will ask you to do it again in front of me and if you fail to show the same level of performance, you will be regarded as cheating, which will result in serious consequence. If you do it on Skype, make sure that you look at your partner all the time and use small gestures. )
2. Review the vocabulary and write the characters on the character sheets. You should finish half of all the characters before 08/23 and finish the rest of characters on the weekend.
3. Review the grammar on the sheets.
4. P. 134, 8-7, Fill in the blank due on 08/22 (choose two different answers from each table and write down the translation of the sentences next to them. Welcome to Xu laoshi's Chinese class

Dear Xuesheng men,
Welcome to the Chinese class! I am so excited to have you in my class and we will work together on Chinese this year. I hope you will enjoy my class!
