1.I think it is important to learn another language because it is important to communicate around the world, and being able to learn and find out about different cultures. That is why it is important to learn other languages.

3.Chinese is very different from English because of all the characters Chinese has and English does not. Also the pinyin in Chinese language and English letters. That is the difference between English and Chinese.
4.I think some new strategies I could use are memorization, Studying more productively, and paying better attention in class. That is my new strategies for becoming better at Chinese.

Delete1) I think it is important to learn a new language because you never know that if one day you could have to take a trip for business or even just vacation. If you do not know that language you will not be comfortable in the country and you may not get your job done as well as you could if you knew that countries language.
ReplyDelete2) I think Chinese can help us become helpful citizens of the world because China makes a lot of America’s technology so on key job would be a spokesperson. In order to be a spokesperson you must be able to speak both languages.
3) Chinese is way different form English because of the fact that Chinese uses characters and the regular alphabet (Pin Yin). Finally there are a lot of tones in Chinese and only one tone in English. This is how Chinese is different from English.
4) For my new strategies in this new language I need to Study a LOT!!! Not only do I need to study, but I also need to pay attention and participate in class. This is what I need to do in order to be a successful Chinese student

Delete1. Because it helps you expand your mind in academic and cultural ways. Academic because you are learning a new language, and languages help you to have a more rounded, open mind. Cultural because cultures are nothing without their language, cultures are created and spread through language.
ReplyDelete2. China is a powerhouse in the global economy so many large businesses will try and either coordinate with other businesses there or have part of their business there. Not everyone speaks English over in China so being a polyglot can really help you if you want to work for those big businesses who need Chinese speakers to make deals for them.
3. Chinese is different from English in that English has 26 characters or "letters" we use and rearrange to make our words, Chinese has over 80,000 characters that each symbolize a different word or sound. They have a Romanization of the Chinese characters called Pinyin so that students can pronounce them before learning some of the more popular characters and so on. The pronunciations are also different.
4. I need to practice until I have mastery of the pronunciation, reading, and writing, then review them later to retain the knowledge so all that hard work is not for nothing. I also need to try and use them as much as possible so that they do not become stale.

that represent a word or action. Chinese also have a specific pronunciation of words that is very different from English.
4. I need to practice how to pronounce the basic vowels,and consonants. I will also need to work on my tone of words, as well as remembering what the different words mean.
